Kerry

On the dance floor, under the starlit sky, Kerry and I twirled, letting worries fly. With stars above and friends beside, In laughter where our spirits could glide. Months later, I gathered my hope to declare, With a shy smile, she whispered, “Not there.” Disheartened yet wiser, I turned to depart, Leaving behind just the beat of my heart. Through whispered tales and midnight skies, In every shared moment, our spirit flies. No ties to bind, just hearts set free, Yet now I stand, alone with memories of you and me. In shadows I faded, never to return, A flicker, a burn, a lesson to learn. Under the Southern Cross where dreams take flight, I hold onto love, ever lost in the night.
