sing to the old

In a tiny corner of the world, stood a humble nursing home,

Where silver-haired souls resided, their stories yet to be known.

Their days blended together, each one filled with routine,

But little did they know, a melody would intervene.

A young woman named Lily, with a heart pure and kind,

Stepped into their home, her voice a gentle wind.

With a guitar in her hands and a song in her soul,

She took a seat among them, her passion taking control.

She strummed her chords softly, her voice melting like honey,

And one by one, the residents stirred, their hearts no longer lonely.

The music brought them solace, memories surged from within,

Their eyes filled with tears as they felt their spirits begin to spin.

An old man named Thomas, with a twinkle in his eye,

Had faded away with time, his laughter a distant sigh.

But as Lily sang, a familiar tune, a smile adorned his face,

A trace of youth returned to him, a moment of pure grace.

Another lady, Margaret, had lost her love so dear,

But as Lily sang of true devotion, the pain felt less severe.

Tears rolled down her weathered cheeks, as emotions took flight,

But in those tears, a newfound strength, a glimmer of her light.

Each day, Lily returned, her songs a balm to their souls,

She watched them dance, laugh, and rejoice, as their hearts began to unfold.

Their stories spilled like rivers, pouring out through their eyes,

And in those tales were wisdom and love, hidden beneath life's disguise.

And as she sang, Lily too, felt her own heart start to mend,

For the joy she gave to others became her own dear friend.

In the process of healing others, she found solace for her pain,

And in the company of old souls, her own story would gain.

For in this humble nursing home, where laughter met with sorrow,

A tapestry of lives emerged, intertwining and borrowing.

Their tears became an anthem, resonating through the air,

A tribute to resilience, a testament to love and care.

So, dear friends, never underestimate the power of a song,

Whether to heal a broken heart or help someone feel strong.

For we all have stories to tell, ones that make us laugh or cry,

And sometimes, the most beautiful tales are found where old souls lie.
